What it does

Seven category keys carry all 89 commands: Transport, Modes, Tracks, Edit, Notes, View and Project. Each category key picks its command in the property inspector, and every command has its own key face with its name across the top.
Every key sends the keyboard shortcut GarageBand itself listens for, so there is nothing to bind. A key with no modifier is held back while a text field has keyboard focus, so a bare letter is not typed into the Note Pad.
Twelve dials for the Stream Deck + and the Stream Deck + XL: Playhead Scrub (a bar per click, press plays or stops), Patch Browse, Master Volume, Zoom, Track Browse, Tempo (one BPM per click), Track Volume and Track Pan on the selected track, Smart Controls Macro, Cycle Range, Loop Browser Scroll and Note Transpose. Ten read their value back onto the touch strip.
Six bundled profiles, all 89 commands in every one. The 15-key Stream Deck, the 32-key Stream Deck XL and the Stream Deck + XL open on a home page with one key per category and a Home key back; the Stream Deck Mini and the Stream Deck Neo chain their pages with Next and Previous keys, and the Stream Deck + pages by swiping its touch strip.
Easy Link is built in: hold its key about a second with GarageBand in front and the deck binds GarageBand to this plugin's profile, switching it in whenever GarageBand takes focus and handing your previous profile back when you leave. A short press does nothing, so a stray tap never relinks.

Built for GarageBand 10.4.14 or later on macOS 15.6 or later, with Stream Deck software 6.9 or newer. Profiles are bundled for six decks: the 15-key Stream Deck, the Stream Deck +, the Stream Deck + XL, the 32-key Stream Deck XL, the Stream Deck Mini and the Stream Deck Neo. The dials need one of the two Stream Deck + models.
Click OK when macOS asks to let Elgato Stream Deck control System Events. Accessibility has no prompt: add Elgato Stream Deck under System Settings, Privacy and Security, Accessibility, then quit and reopen the Stream Deck app. The keys and the dials both need it.
Keys send only while GarageBand is in front. With another app in front nothing is sent, and the key shows an alert rather than firing into the wrong window.
Ten of the twelve dials read their value back from GarageBand onto the touch strip; Loop Browser Scroll and Note Transpose send without reading back. The Stream Deck + XL profile seats six dials and the Stream Deck + profile four; the other six wait in the actions list, ready to place.
A key is remapped by picking another command in its property inspector; this plugin has no field for typing your own key combination.
