What it does

124 commands across 11 remappable category keys: Transport, View and Zoom, Track, Item and Edit, Markers and Regions, Marker Pad, Grid and Ruler, Envelopes and Automation, Project and Tabs, FX and Mixer, and Track Painter. REAPER has no usable action for track colour, so Track Painter's fourteen colour keys and its dial hand the colour to a small script the plugin installs in a folder it owns, and wait for its receipt before reporting success.
Eight dials: horizontal zoom, track volume, track select, cursor by grid, track heights, marker nav, track painter and FX parameter. Track Select scrolls REAPER's own track names on the strip and commits on press; hold it down and turn to ride that track's volume. The Stream Deck + XL seats six at a time; the Stream Deck + seats Track Painter, Track Volume, Track Select and Horizontal Zoom.
The FX Parameter dial works with any REAPER plugin. Touch a control in an FX window, hold the dial still for about a second, and that parameter is on the dial. It holds three; a press steps between them, and the strip shows all three with REAPER's own value text.
A T9 keypad types track names, markers and FX searches from the deck: click into the field, then tap, with 123 mode for digits and ABC mode for letters. It sits on the hubs of the 32-key Stream Deck XL and the Stream Deck + XL, and on the 15-key Stream Deck one key pops it open. It types into whichever text field has focus.
With the OSC feed up, Play/Stop, Play/Pause, Record, Repeat and Metronome light from REAPER's own state rather than from what the deck last sent. The Mixer key reads REAPER itself and needs no feed. A face that loses its reading goes dark rather than go stale.
Seven bundled profiles for six decks, Easy Link built in, the seventh being the 15-key Stream Deck's pop-open keypad. The 32-key Stream Deck XL and the Stream Deck + XL open on a hub with the keypad, and every command page on them has a Home key back to it. Every key can play a press sound, 33 in the box, plus your own WAVs in Documents/Pathfinder Sounds.

Built for REAPER on macOS 13 or newer, tested against REAPER 7.79, and on Windows 10 and 11, tested against 7.80. Requires the Stream Deck app 6.9 or newer. Seven profiles are bundled for six decks: the 15-key Stream Deck, the Stream Deck +, the Stream Deck + XL, the 32-key Stream Deck XL, the Stream Deck Mini and the Stream Deck Neo, plus a pop-open keypad profile for the 15-key Stream Deck. The dials need one of the two Stream Deck + models.
On a Mac the Stream Deck app needs Accessibility and Automation of System Events, which macOS asks for on the first key press. If you declined, or a key does nothing, add Elgato Stream Deck under System Settings, Privacy and Security, Accessibility, allow it under Automation, then quit and reopen the Stream Deck app.
The 33 shortcut keys go to the app in front, so keep REAPER in front for those. The 77 command-id keys and every dial reach REAPER directly, on a Mac through a small listener script the plugin starts inside REAPER, and the 14 Track Painter keys hand their colour to a script run inside REAPER, so all of those need REAPER running but not in front. On a Mac, Play/Pause sends Control and Space, so Spotlight stays out of the way.
Every key and six of the eight dials work with nothing configured. The live readings need REAPER's OSC feed, and on a Mac the plugin sets it up by itself whenever REAPER is closed, backing up reaper.ini and never replacing a surface you already have. On Windows, press the Track Select dial on a Stream Deck + or Stream Deck + XL while it reads no REAPER feed: press to set up, and follow the strip. By hand: copy Pathfinder.ReaperOSC from the plugin's osc folder into REAPER's OSC folder (~/Library/Application Support/REAPER/OSC on a Mac), then add it under Preferences, Control/OSC/web with device IP 127.0.0.1, device port 8000 and local listen port 9000.
Track Select and FX Parameter need the feed and say why when they cannot work. On FX Parameter a row whose plugin cannot be found dims to no feed, and one whose plugin moved reads moved: re-capture, so hold again. Take FX, input FX and monitoring FX cannot be captured. Turn while pressing for ten times finer steps. If you set up the feed by hand with version 1.0, the dial reads pattern edited by hand: copy the new Pathfinder.ReaperOSC over the old one, then restart REAPER.
Every command key is remappable from the property inspector: press your combination once and that key sends exactly that. A captured shortcut overrides a command-id key's route, so that key then needs REAPER in front like the other 33.

True of every plugin we make

Every key carries the app's own shortcut for that command, and every key is remappable. Type your combination into the key's property inspector (its settings panel in the Stream Deck app) or click Capture and press it once. Where an app leaves a command unbound, the key still reaches it by the route that app exposes.
Keystrokes go to the front window and nothing steals focus, so keep the target app in front when you press.
Every command has its own drawn key art, so the deck reads at a glance instead of listing shortcuts.
